These sweet-smelling holiday ornaments are a delight to make! Not only are they easy to assemble but their aroma lasts long after the holidays are over. Take the weekend to make them with your kids or use even them as cute gift tags for friends and family!
1 cup of ground cinnamon
3/4 cup of apple sauce
2 tablespoons of glue
1 tablespoon of nutmeg
1 tablespoon of ground cloves
Festive ribbon or kitchen twine
1. Preheat oven to 200 F.
2. In a bowl, stir together cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Mix in the apple sauce and glue, then work mixture with hands to form a dough.
3. Dust your work surface with cinnamon, then roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
4. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes and make a hole at the top with a toothpick.
5. Bake for 2 hours and let cool for 30 minutes, then string a festive ribbon through the hole.
