Fall is officially upon us and there’s nothing better than fresh apples at this time of year. If you love apples as much as we do, you’re trying all the varieties and stocking up on them while the price is right. Indulge with these beautifully tasty recipes and enjoy your apple a day in new creative ways. Here are my top picks in no particular order. Except, I did save the best for last!
1. Caramel Apple Pie Cookies
Now why didn’t I think of that! I absolutely love lattice work on pies so this is the perfect cookie for me. Not only are they adorable, they’re delicious with the perfect combination of sweet, cinnamon and apple.
2. Apple Cider Donuts
It just isn’t fall without apple cider, don’t you agree? These baked donuts are sure to please with their apple flavor and cinnamon-sugar coating. I will skip the donut pan and stick to donut holes because I feel less guilty about eating them by the dozen!
3. Apple Pie Pancakes
Saturday mornings means pancakes at our house. Because tradition. We try all kind of new recipes and flavors and these are a must. Apple pie flavor without all the work? Yes please!
4. Bloomin’ Baked Apples
Anything made in the slow cooker shoots right to the top of my recipe to do list. I love getting chores done (figuratively speaking) while something is cooking away unattended. It’s also a great way to get the kids involved without risking any burns.
5. Glazed Apple Cinnamon Bread
I am so glad there are creative people out there to give me ideas like these. Otherwise I would just stick to my tried and true banana bread. There’s nothing like sweet bread and the glaze on this one is an extra sweet treat.
6. Caramel Apple Cupcakes
You read correctly, caramel apple cupcakes! Feast your senses on these delicious treats that are sure to please everyone. I love caramel apples but only make them for Halloween so this is a great way to get that flavor throughout fall.
7. Apple Dumplings
If you’re like me, you love little desserts you can pop in your mouth. I feel like I consume less (there is absolutely no evidence to support this theory) and consequently believe I am winning at life. Three cheers for apple dumplings and other small sweets!
Snickerdoodles are the first thing I ever learned to bake and are far superior to sugar cookies in my opinion. Because cinnamon. Whether you prefer yours soft of crisp, this apple twist on a classic will delight your tastebuds.
9. Apple Cider Cinnamon Rolls
The best thing about cinnamon rolls is that (for whatever reason) we were always allowed to eat them with our hands. Unrolling the pastry was part of the fun of enjoying these gooey sweets.
10. Caramel Apple Mini Cheesecakes
I am drooling just thinking about these little cuties. I never met a cheesecake I didn’t like so I am really looking forward to making these.
You work too hard for your money to throw it all away on full price when you don't have to!
