How To Play It
Between $0.10 and $100 could be spent on every single round in Hand of Anubis. It’s the standard approach, that most developers have when it comes to betting.
Hand of Anubis spins 5 reels, and each one has 6 symbols. With the 30 symbols shown at all times, you can form Clusters of at least 5 matching symbols. For best results, you need 11 or more symbols in a cluster.
Special Features
In addition to the clusters that can form, there is also a cascade mechanic. It removes winning symbols/clusters, and drops others in their place. More cascades can follow then, if additional clusters result from this.
For the regular side of the game, you can get Soul Orbs colored in blue or red, and they’re both going to be used as substitutes. You can get one of them, or both, but it’s not guaranteed. These Orbs get their power from the wins formed that round.
Red Orbs get a boost of 1x to their multiplier, from each symbol that is part of a cluster. Blue Orbs get 1x boosts from each full cluster. Get the two orbs in the same cluster, and they multiply those numbers for an even better one.
Bonus symbols take the form of the Pharaoh’s Skull. It’s a scatter, which you need landing 3 or 4 times, to trigger one of two features.
Underworld triggers when you have 3 scatters in view. It brings back the paying symbols, along with a multiplier and a Green Orb. Form clusters, and the multipliers displayed below the reels will improve. A 1x boost is added for each winning symbol. Up to 10x multipliers are possible just from the special symbols that will sometimes show up. To activate a multiplier, you need a Green Orb landing on that reel first. There is a limit to their size, but it’s at an incredible 9,999x.
Judgment is the other feature, which you get when 4 scatters are present. It takes you through 3 refilling spins (resetting when new blocks land), and it uses different symbols. The reels each have multipliers, and the values can get a boost via special symbols (up to 10x boosts from Anubis skull icons). Besides multipliers, there are also blocks that will add up to 100x to those values.
It’s a fairly elaborate feature, which also uses Ice Blocks to bring Multiplier Blocks to the game area, stacking them up until they fill the reels. Crushers can also drop, and they help collect prizes from the Multiplier Blocks it destroys.
Maximum Payouts
Using its complex features, Hand of Anubis is capable of paying 10,000x the wager. It’s a healthy top prize, and one that you’re getting from a highly volatile slot. The RTP of 96.24% is part of a range.
Summary
Hand of Anubis makes a solid first impression, thanks to its unusual all-black graphics, hard to come by in the Ancient Egypt category. I like everything else as well, but the features are complex, and it might take you a read or two through the rules page, before you understand how it all works.
